Back to school is right around the corner! When I was in high school I always planned out my outfits and which stationary items to use for each class the night before. It definitely still excites me as I head back to University this time around, but (unlike high school) I def have a lot more time to get ready. YAY FOR ADULTING!
This is my everyday glam look when I have about 10 minutes to get ready. This look is so easy to achieve and is perfect for when you want to be extra glam but not over the top. For those of us who literally only have 5 minutes to get ready, I have a blog post coming up soon on how to look good in 5 minutes. SO STAY TUNED FOR THAT.
You can use anything you have at home to achieve this go to glam look, but today I’ll be showcasing the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette. Lately I’ve been loving this palette ever since I picked it up on the second restock; if you have the palette, please comment down below your thoughts on it and (if you love the palette) please let me know what your favorite colors are!
MY GO TO GLAM LOOK
1. Apply primer
I usually double up my concealer to prime my lids. This step is so important to cancel out any discoloration on your eyes and make the eyeshadows pop! I set using a cream color.
2. Crease color
To start, apply any light brown color in the crease to act as a transition color. I always apply this above my actual crease since I have hooded eyes. If you have hooded eyes too and want a more detailed makeup tutorial, check out my previous post How to: Rose Gold Smokey Eye on Hooded Eyes This post goes into much detail and even has an awesome pictograph!
If you’ve run out of time, you can stop at step 2. But if you have that extra time, add more dimension to the eyes by applying a darker color in the outer v. This color can be whatever color you are comfortable with; I chose a dark orange brown color. Smoke out the bottom lash line with your crease transition color or any color 1-2 shades darker.
4. Add center color
I love adding a shimmery color in the center of the lid because it pulls the whole look together. If you want extra glam, use the Stila Magnificent Metals glitter eyeshadow on top of the shimmery color. This product is so easy to apply and is really the best when it comes to glitter. Minimal fallout when wet and stays on all day when dry.
WARNING: Make sure to blend away any harsh lines in the crease before you add the glitter. If you try blending after, glitter may go everywhere!
5. Add mascara and/or eyeliner
For all the nay-sayers that say hooded eyes can’t wear liner, I say no! You just don’t know how to do it right 😉 The trick is to apply a very thin line on the lash line. For the wing part, make sure to extend straight out rather than up. That way you can still see your liner when you open your eyes. If it helps, use some tape or flat edged item to create a sharp line. To avoid under or overdrawing, a trick I like to use is to look straight forward while applying the eyeliner. This helps make sure you are applying the liner where you want it.
Add mascara on both upper and bottom lashes.
6. Add lashes
Finally, my favorite part: lashes! Adding false eyelashes will really lift up your eyes and complete the look. Make sure to have a eyelash curler (mine was missing this day) to ensure you lashes blend well with the falsies.
And that’s it~ If you want a visual form of this tutorial, check out my video here [here] or below!
