This summer has been beautiful and it feels so sad that it is finally coming to a close. Before summer ends, us girls wanted to make sure to take advantage of the sun! My girl squad and I decided to sport African patchwork prints. Bold prints can sometimes be intimidating to wear, but it was so cool to see how we styled each item differently! Boriah Clothiers Patchwork Peplum This gorgeous top is from Boriah Clothiers. If you didn’t know, I absolutely love peplum tops on me and basically have a peplum top in every color. Peplum tops are great because it emphases the bust area and flare out around the tummy area making it great for when I know I’m about to eat a lot of food! I love this top in particular…

WTF is Dermarolling? Microneedling 101

"Blog, Skincare, Sponsored Posts"

When it comes to skincare, it can get complicated. There’s so many tools out there in the world that are either really cool and life-changing or really WTF, why would you ever? And today we’re gonna cover a tool that covers a bit of both! Dermarolling definitely fits in both categories because why would anyone in the right mind want to stab their face with needles? As crazy as it is, its honestly one of the most life-changing skin tools I’ve ever used. Common terms are microneedling, derma roller, What is dermarolling? Essentially its what you’re thinking. Derma [skin] + roller [with micro needles attached]. So, why does it work? Dermarolling works because its forcing your skin to create collagen and increase elasticity. Collagen has been around for years and people usually apply it…

How to: Rose Gold Smokey Eye on Hooded Eyes

"Makeup, Makeup Tips, Reviews, Sponsored Posts"

Out of all the colors of the rainbow, my favorite color is rose gold <3 (technically not a color in the rainbow, but you get the gist) I decided I wanted to show you how I got this rose gold smokey eye from the other day and share some eye makeup tips for hooded eyes.   1. Apply neutral crease color To start, apply any neutral color in the crease to act as a transition color. Hooded eyes have less lid space, so the trick with hooded eyes is to apply your crease color above your crease. This ensures your shadows don’t disappear as soon as you open your eyes. You only want color to be applied around the outer v, so make sure to sharpen the line by applying tape or using a…

10 Hair Hacks, Tips and Tricks You Need to Know

"Blog, DIY, Hacks, Sponsored Posts"

My hair journey has been.. a journey. In the last several years I’ve learned so much about my hair and what tricks work and don’t work. I’m at a point where I am happy with the routine and the overall health of my hair (despite the constant coloring of it). So if you want to know how I do it, here are my 10 life-changing HAIR TIPS, TRICKS AND HACKS that I can’t live without! 1. Air Dry is a Must Credit to: Maskcara Air drying is really the best way to give your hair an opportunity to breath. Things like constant coloring and heating will over process your hair and it will eventually turn into a hot mess (literally). Since I have thick hair, I usually take showers at night. I towel dry…

5 Tips on a PERFECT Passport Photo | Passport Makeup

"Blog, Makeup Tips, Travel"

Traveling is an eye opening experience and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world! Unfortunately, we don’t live in a world where we can carelessly travel everywhere without the need of official paperwork. The passport application process can sometimes be overwhelming, especially taking the photo. Here are my 5 tips to a perfect passport photo! Passport | Important Details Before I start talking about passport makeup tips, I want to remind you that you should order your passport way ahead in advance. Make sure you have all the required paperwork and documentations and understand the photo requirements in your country (here’s the U.S. website on Passport FAQ that is very helpful on answering all my questions!). It’s also important to allow sufficient time to process your application. Processing a passport can take from…

Summer Makeup Switches

"Blog, Makeup Tips"

When summer hits, its time for some changes! In addition to bringing out your summer shorts and dresses, don’t forget to make changes in your makeup routine as well! Foundation With the sun and humidity out, its easy for your foundation to feel heavy and slide off your face (which isn’t too cute). Switch your foundation for a BB Cream. Not only are BB creams feel lightweight, they also have SPF which helps prevent skin cancer. Win-win! My U.S. favs are Burt’s Bees BB Cream and Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream. Highlighter Highlighter is totally in right now (have you seen the new shades from the Jouer Highlighter collection?!) but can fade through the hot summer day. Try switching to a liquid or gel highlighter to make that cheekbone pop all day long! Marc Jacobs…

What’s in my Travel Makeup Bag?

"Blog, Makeup Tips, Travel"

With summer comes vacations and with vacations come packing, traveling, and lots of sun exposure. I absolutely love reading these types of posts because I love getting to know what other people pack when they travel! If you’d like to know what I usually pack on vacations to keep my makeup and skin 100%, please keep reading! Skincare Out of all the steps in my travel makeup bag, I think this is the most important step. It is so critical to take care of your skin, especially when you are traveling. Inside a plane with recycled air for hours, commuting by car, and a blazing hot sun is a recipe for skin disaster. Whenever traveling, I always make sure to have enough hydration and sun protection. I really like masks focused on hydration since…
