2017 Best Summer Drugstore Makeup: Highlighters, Bronzers, Oh my!

Suns out, buns out! Or in my case, buns up all day E V E R Y D A Y. Summer is one of my favorite seasons because it keeps me motivated to go outside, travel and have fun. This summer a lot of drugstore brands have kicked it into high gear and have released awesome products perfect for summer!

My two summer makeup staples are highlighters and bronzers. These two combo-ed together make the perfect glowy bronze skin!

Today I am going to share with you my drugstore favorites that won’t break the bank.

Highlighters

1. Physician’s Formula Bronze Booster $15.00

Such a steal! There’s 3 highlighters in one, 2 that could be illuminating blushes.

2. Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips $13.00

Looks a lot like the Bobbi Brown. Swirl around for a mix of colors or focus on one color.

3. Maybelline Master Chrome $10.00

If you haven’t heard about this highlighter, you have been living under a rock. It’s been raved about all over online and that definitely doesn’t come as a surprise.

4. Loreal Lumi True Match $13.00

Oldie but a goodie. Use this if you are looking for a glowy base.

5. Makeup Revolution Strobe $6.00

This is such a steal! $6 for a blinding highlighter is insane. Plus, Makeup Revolution offers so many different colors from frosty white to gold. You’ll definitely find your color at a budget with this highlighter.

6. Maybelline Strobing Liquid $8.00

This product tends to dry fast (leaving a unflattering streak on the face) so you have to blend quickly. Otherwise is an awesome product and great dupe for the Cover FX Custom Drops!

7. NYX Dose of Dew $9.00

If you’re on the hunt for a great highlighter stick, you’ve found it here! Packed with pigmentation and highlighter punch!

8. WET & Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder $5.00

This highlighter is a serious steal. The pigmentation and color selection is awesome and the highlighter lasts all day. The only problem is this product is always sold out, so if you find it at your drugstore make sure to pick it up!

Bronzers

1. Makeup Revolution Vivid Shimmer Brick $7.00

If you’re looking for a luminous bronzer, you’ve found it! Depending on your skin tone, you could use some of these shades as highlighters. This is an affordable product that’ll get more bang for your buck.

2. Maybelline FaceStudio Master Studio Kit $13.00

This kit is awesome because it comes with a bronzer, blush, and highlighter. Great for travel and on-the-go!

3. Milani Baked Bronzer $8.00

The formulation of these bronzers are insane. The baked formula leaves a luminous finish to the skin, leaving you bronzed and glowy for the highlighter gods!

4.Wet & Wild MegaGlo Dual-Ended Contour Stick $6.00

On the hunt for a contour stick that’s not way out of your budget? Look no more! This dual-ended contour stick gives you a contour and highlighting side for the perfect stick contouring. Don’t forget to set this for all day bronze!

5. Rimmel Natural Bronzer $4.00

This bronzer is great because for $4 you get a lot of product. Although some of the colors may be too warm on you (some colors make me look orange, which is not cute), if you find the perfect color you’re set!

6. NYX Matte Bronzer $9.00

If you’re looking for a more cool toned bronzer, NYX may have your back! Comes in a compact for on-the-go.

7. ELF Cream Contour $6.00

I’ve been eyeing the ABH contour kit, but find it hard to shell out lots of money for one cream contour kit. If you’re like me, check out ELF’s cream contour kit. It comes with three bronzing/contouring shades and one banana shade, perfect for your cream contouring needs.

Drugstore vs. Highend Dupes

For an extra bonus, I decided to add in some makeup dupes of your favorite high-end makeup products! Saving money for the same finish? That’s a win-win!

Thank you so much for reading! Comment below what your favorite summer drugstore dupe is!

I have not used many of these products. I’ve heard that drugstore brands have really stepped up their game and compete really well against higher end brands.
