Today I officially go back to school. IDK about you, but I do actually get excited to go back to school. Not because of homework and assignments (boring), but because for some reason I love shopping for back to school stationary, outfits and supplies. When it comes to school, you just never know what will happen. Whether you forgot a hairtie for gym class or have a period EMERGENCY (trust me, those totally suck), my philosophy is better safe than sorry. I bring all my beauty essentials in a large makeup bag for easy access and leave it in my bag or backpack. Don’t need hairspray? Don’t bring it. This list is a list of my essentials and you should modify your essentials bag based on your needs.
Idk why but the side of my cheek always fades first throughout the day, so I always bring a compact foundation. Thanks to Kim Thai‘s recommendations, I am a huge fan of Maybelline Super Stay compact. Gives enough coverage for a natural look without looking cakey. I actually am a huge fan of the Maybelline’s Super Stay line, so you’re looking for affordable natural face products definitely check them out!
If you’re looking for an amazingly real YouTuber to check out, you MUST check out Kim Thai. She films beauty, fashion and (more recently) mukbangs, so her content is LIT. And sub to my YouTube channel [PoshPomi] while you’re there 😀
Large Buffer Brush (optional)
Now if you keep the sponge in the compact, you actually don’t need to take any makeup beauty tools. I don’t like the finish those sponges leave, so I just prefer to use a large buffer or flat top brush.
The second area that tends to fade away throughout the day is brows. Setting the brows with brow gel will really increase the longevity of the brows.
My other makeup favs
When it comes to school, I prefer more beauty sleep over doing my hair. That’s where dry shampoo saves the day! I just spritz some dry shampoo before I run out of the door and my hair is bed-head chic.
Especially if you have thick hair or have gym class, bring hair ties! I experience broken hair ties on a bi-weekly basis, so its sooo important to bring a few hair ties in my essentials bag. Hair ties are so great if you are having a bad hair day.
If I have my hair up, I prefer my baby hairs to stay in place. Throughout the day my baby hairs slowly fall, so hairspray is great to put them back in place.
My favorite hair products
For any period emergencies, I would definitely recommend to bring some sort of feminine products. I usually bring both tampons and pads just in case. Just like how you should bring extra pencils to class (cause you know someone is going to ask), you should bring extras of feminine products. You never know when a friend may need it!
You can (if your school lets you) bring any medications that relates to your period, such as Advil, Midol, etc. I know for my high school they had certain restrictions on this, so make sure to check in with your school before bringing it.
